Introducing a new series: Business Essentials

This month I am starting a series that slightly deviates from content marketing, I wanted to explore some of the basic essentials each entrepreneur needs to strengthen if they want a successful and strong business. But because my focus and expertise are in marketing, I decided to reach into my network of professionals and ask if they could join me on my podcast and bring their wisdom and insight to the table.

Today we kick off the series by speaking with Karen Castle of Castle Business Accounting here in Montgomery County Maryland. Karen is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of experience helping small businesses with their day-to-day financial management. She is a Principal at Castle Business Accounting, which is a firm focusing on client accounting services and small business advisory, providing virtual CFO and accounting department solutions. From the smallest transactions to the largest financial decisions, Karen and her team serve as trusted partners in managing the finances of a variety of small businesses. The services she provides include CPA-led bookkeeping, budgeting, oversight, financial reporting, and business strategy consulting.

Now, before we jump into my conversation Karen, I want to remind you about next month’s Content Marketing Strategy Workshop. It will be an in-person half-day workshop here in Gaithersburg, Maryland happening on Wednesday, August 17 starting at 9 am. Together we will spend some time on four different key parts of content planning.

  1. How to pick your content topics for up to six months for your business
  2. Explore different types of content creation and which are best for your business
  3. How to schedule out your content to allow for maximum exposure to your audience
  4. The best ways to distribute your content and get it into the hands of those that need it the most

The workshop will give you the skills to plan your content 3-to-6 months in advance. It will teach you how to create a content marketing strategy that is aligned with your business objectives and aligns with your organization’s goals. You can learn more about the workshop and even register on our workshop website

Okay without further ado, let’s dive into today’s conversation with Karen Castle.

Here are a few of the questions you have to look forward to us discussing.

  • Okay I just started my new business, what do I need to do right away to have a good start
  • How can I make sure I am doing the best for my business when it comes to managing my finances?
